Elon's Notes:  Recently I had the pleasure of talking with the creator of Proof and Wood, Dave Schmier.  Dave's claim to fame was the creation of the Redemption brand, which was one of the first quality rye brands to take MGP whiskey and market it to a broad audience using a private label.  The cocktail craze, and high quality of Redemption catapulted the brand into the spotlight, and Dave sold the brand to a big wine marketing company.  Soon after, Dave decided to use his fantastic connection with MGP to create another brand - Proof and Wood, with a few spinoffs inlcuding The Presidential Dram, which started as a Washington DC only project and has since snowballed into something a bit bigger with more political themed labels including The Ambassador, The Representative and The Senator.  Only a few single barrels from this collection are offered to single retailers and we are honored to be able to offer this barrel to our loyal customers.

Tasting Notes:  Atypical for young rye in that the spice does not show through, instead we get a magical aroma of wildflower honey, vanilla pastry, dulce de leche pudding, and dried apricot.  The initial palate  entry shows a viscosity that is absolutely entrancing with tight tongue feel and a very pleasant and lengthy finish.  Any king would be happy to sip a dram at dessert.  No need to proof this one with water or ice.
